Darjeeling’s Enchanting Toy Train Rides Suspended Until August 31 Due to Monsoon

The renowned Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR) toy train services have been suspended until August 31 as a precautionary measure during the ongoing monsoon season.

According to the Chief Public Relations Officer of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), Sabyasachi De, the suspension includes the three steam joy rides and one diesel joy ride, which will remain cancelled from July 20 to August 31.

When the services resume after the monsoon, the ticket price for a toy train ride will be INR 805 per head for diesel engine rides and INR 1405 per head for steam engine rides. These charming rides are a favorite among visitors, providing a delightful way to explore the stunning landscapes and immerse in the beauty of Darjeeling.

For now, travelers who had plans to experience the joy of the toy train will have to wait until the rains subside and the railway authorities ensure safe and smooth operations. The anticipation is sure to grow as tourists eagerly await the revival of this iconic attraction in the heart of the Himalayas.
